James Arthur Terry

James Arthur Terry was born in Pocatello, ID March 15, 1964 to Ronald and Mary (Erlene) Terry. James passed away, sober, holding his wifes hand April 6, 2019. He was 55. James had fond memories of his time as a young boy in Sitka, AK, playing with his sister Paula. He then moved to Burley/Twin Falls, ID where he watched Evel Knievel jump the Snake River Canyon. He moved to Redmond, Oregon in 1976. James graduated from Redmond High School in 1982, where he wrestled and played football. James helped build the Presbyterian Church and was active in DeMolay. He was a four time letterman in wrestling at his beloved University of Oregon where he earned a Bachelor of Science in health education and coached wrestling at North Eugene High School. James then worked in the dry cleaning industry for many years. He made many friends during this time that have remained close to his heart. Having an honest desire to change his life, James moved back to Redmond in November 2012, living with his parents until July 2014. James married his "Tigger", his "Goober", his "World", Margaret on august 29, 2018. Together, they lived life to the fullest, with many travels, rarely planned. As one friend observed, one would say, "Hey honey. I dont have to wash my hair tonight. Want to go to California?" James lived life to the fullest. Laughter came easy. Those who stayed at James and Margarets would comment that laughter was heard at 4:30 in the morning. James enjoyed telling jokes, collecting knives, antiques, traveling, climbing mountains in Oregon, and sports, especially the Vikings and his Oregon Ducks!! He was able to attend his first Elite 8 game, watching his lady Ducks advance to the Final Four March 31, 2019. James enjoyed all he met and could find the good in anyone or anything. His knowledge, he was often referred to as the Professor, his sense of humor and sensational positive outlook on life and all situations will not be forgotten. The most important aspect of James life was relying on and having a daily conscience contact with God. One of the last thoughts James wrote was, "A nod to God for another day." James is survived by his wife Margaret Terry, father Ronald Terry, sister Paula and husband Mark Weber, Jamess step "kids" Shantae, Gabby and Skylar, as well as a grandson, Azariah. Also surviving is an uncle, his wife and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, "Erlene" in February 2018. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on April 27, 2019 at Redmond Grange Hall, 707 SW Kalama Ave., Redmond, Oregon with reception to follow. Please feel free to bring a salad.
