Everett W. Endicott

Everett (Jigger) Endicott, 99, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018 in Redmond, Oregon as a result of age related maladies. He led a wonderful and full life. Everett was born on December 6, 1919, in Hood River, Oregon. He married Betty Hatfield, on July 29, 1943, in Mission, Texas. They raised three children, Carole, Ben (Tal) and George. Everett was discharged from the Army Air Corps after WWII, and they returned to Redmond where they lived for several years. Everett was the first manager of the Madras airport after the military converted it to civilian use. After an unfortunate "run in" with a large juniper tree, his crop dusting days were over, and he became a service station owner in Redmond. Everett was recalled to active duty service, and he, Betty and the family spent many years traveling around the United States and Asia as part of his military duties. He served in several assignments over the next many years until his retirement back to Redmond in 1969. Everett served his last year in the military in Vietnam. After Jigger and Betty retired, they traveled extensively all across the United States and Canada, Europe, and even went to Mexico with a travel trailer. In 2018, the Endicotts celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary on July 29th. Everett is survived by Carole (Endicott) Keins (Ed), Westford, MA; Mayor George Endicott (Krisanna), Redmond, OR; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by Betty, wife, who passed away on August 17, 2018, and Ben (Tal) Endicott, son, who passed June 9, 1995. Services will be held at Highland Baptist Church, Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 1:00 PM. Pastor Barry Campbell from Highland Baptist Church will officiate. Funeral Services are provided by Redmond Memorial Chapel, Redmond, OR. Contributions in lieu of flowers can be made to Hospice of Redmond, who provided much needed and appreciated support to Everett in his final days. Alternatively, Everett and his wife Betty were long term and strong supporters of the ReachAnother Foundation and were proud of its work with children with water on the brain in Africa.
